Collaboration with Lotte World Tower, 2017 Lotte World Tower LWT is a 123-floor skyscrapper, designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, AIA award winner and one of the largest architecture firms in the world. It is the tallest building in OECD and the 5th tallest building in the world. Task We were asked to design T-shirts, shoulder bags, market bags and pouches for Seoul Sky Observatory design shop and where in charge of the full design process from concept building to final package. | |

Design The horizon print was inspired from the curved light on the surface of Lotte World Tower. SUSUMU used stripes to evoke the lights and the shapes of the tower. Our block print is a visualization of the Asian philosophy that "one can shine better by emptying yourself rather than filling" This is achieved by leaving the tower shape empty and emphasising the colours of the surroundings. Technique SUSUMU uses screen-printing on heavy cotton canvas for shoulder bags and pouches, cotton jersey for T-shirts, polyester ripstop for market bags. | |
